What happens during the procedure
On the first visit a medical history form is filled out photos are taken of the treatment area. Photos are to keep track of your progress and to give us a visual record of the area they are never used without your permission.
For our fat reduction and cellulite reduction treatments an injection of an
anti-inflammatory will be administered prior to treatment.
This will minimize the chance of an allergic reaction or excessive swelling and hyper pigmentation.
Allergic reactions are extremely rare with Mesotherapy since most people are not allergic to soy, however this is a precaution we take to protect our patients.
Next a series of micro-injections are administered into the treatment area. This process takes about 10 minutes per area treated.
Most of the injections cannot be felt due to the extremely small needles that are used.
The injections are not deep they only penetrate the mesoderm ( the second layer of skin) so the injections are more like a prick.
A topical anesthetic ( Rx) can be applied for those with sensitive skin prior to treatment. This cream consists of Benzocaine 20% lidocaine 6% teracaine 4%. This process takes about 30 minutes and costs $37. It can only be only be applied to one large area per session. Please refer to the mesotherapy page for pricing.
After administration transient heat or itching might occur as the medication works like an enzyme on the fat cells breaking them down. This is a temporary sensation the itching lasting for only a few minutes the heat may last for a few hours.
Benadryl and Tylenol may be taken prior to coming
We have cooling creams that we will apply to the area right after the treatment and they are available for purchase for use at home .
Post Treatment instructions
There are no long term side effects with Mesotherapy most side effects are temporary
and are limited to bruising and mild irritation.
Small wheels may appear at the injection sites these disappear in minutes to hours.
Due to the increased metabolism in the area the area may feel warm for 2 to 3 days depending on the person.
It is normal for the consistency of the localized fat in the treatment area to change.
Many comment on the area feeling a little like jello or mild bloating for a few days after the treatment. This is normal as the top layer of fat cells break down and leave their cell walls.
The medication tightens the skin along with treating the fat so there is no need for compression garments. However some patients opt to wear mild support garments after their therapy so there is no jiggle while wearing fitted clothing this is totally optional.
Drink 64 ounces of water every day after your treatment. This will help to flush the fats that have been broken down.Water is not crystal lite ,coffee ,tea, sodas or fruit juice so please add 8 / 8 oz. glasses of pure water to your diet .
Wash with anti- bacterial soap for two days after your treatment.A cool shower or compress will soothe any irritated areas.
Only use after care products on the area do not use any other lotions or creams for up to 7 hours.
Avoid tanning the treated areas until they are completely healed. This kind of exposure may lead to hyper pigmentation.
Avoid exercise for 24 hours after your treatment.Exercise on the day of your treatment will dilute and decrease the effect of the medication.
However exercise after that time is highly encouraged.
Bruising, tenderness, and mild inflammation might occur.Bruising may last for 3 to 7 days possibly longer if you bruise easily.
On the day of your treatment use ice packs or cold compresses to minimize bruising and inflammation.
Topical creams like Dr.Emus ,Traumeel, and Arnica helps with bruising and helps to heal.
Your choice of Traumeel pills/ drops , Zeel pills ( homeopathic) Tylenol and Benadryl
may be taken as needed.
