What is Laser/IPL Hair Removal?
IPL stands for intense pulse light. In this procedure a technician will focus a high frequency ray of light directly on the hair follicle. This causes all the moisture in the follicle to dry up the dehydrated follicle dies as a result. But IPL doesn’t just eliminate the hair, it also shocks the area where the root grows and shields it shut inhibiting the blood that supplies the hair follicle. Without blood flow, the hair can no longer grow and permanent hair removal is achieved.
A series of treatments will be needed for permanent hair removal in the targeted area to be completely removed for good. Most patients report minimal to no discomfort during the procedure.
Difference Between IPL and Laser Hair Removal
The difference between IPL and Laser Hair Removal methods is that in laser hair removal a single wavelength of light is used, but in IPL procedures multiple wavelengths are used. IPL hair removal fully closes the hair follicle , preventing future growth of any kind, resulting in permanent hair removal. On the other hand, other laser procedures only burn the hair and once the follicle heals there is a small possibility that hair may grow back. With IPL permanent hair removal is possible.
What areas can be treated?
Our System can remove hair from all parts of the body including the face, legs, arms, underarms, and back. It can also treat sensitive areas like the chest, nipples and bikini line, including full Brazilian.
What do the treatments feel like?
The hand-piece cools and soothes as it glides along your skin. Cooling gel is also used during the treatment. When the pulse of light is delivered, some patients experience a mild pinching or stinging sensation. No local anesthesia or pain medication is typically required, however some patients may prefer to use a topical anesthetic when sensitive areas are treated, which we can provide.
How many treatments will I need for permanent hair removal?
Most areas require 6-8 treatments, but the number of treatments you may require for optimal long-term benefits depends on various factors such as your hair’s thickness, the area treated, and your hair’s growth cycle. Interestingly, not all hairs are actively growing at the same time, but actually go through three distinct phases; growth, regression, and resting. IPL/Laser systems work by disabling the hair that is principally in the active growth phase at the time of treatment. Since other hairs will enter this active growth phase at different times, additional treatments may be necessary to disable all of the hair follicles in a given area. For this reason all of our packages priced below include a generous 8 treatments! Prices below are for both Male and Female.
